Spearhead Chinese-American outreach for Matt Mahan’s campaign for Mayor of San Jose via effective community organizing and communications strategies. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, a quick-learner, and passionate about achieving our Revolution of Common Sense.
Responsibilities:
Develop a comprehensive Chinese outreach strategy to maximize support
Identify key Chinese community leaders for the campaign to engage
Conduct voter outreach to Chinese voters via door knocking and phone banking
Organize and recruit volunteers to assist with these efforts
Set up meet-and-greets with members of the Chinese community
Provide input on messaging and targeted communications to Chinese-Americans
Develop and leverage relationships with Mandarin-speaking media
Identify important Chinese community events for Matt to attend
Requirements:
Existing relationships within and local knowledge of San Jose’s Chinese community are preferred
Mandarin language fluency
When feasible, on-call availability for time-sensitive tasks
Ability to at times work irregular and extended hours
Stipend: Dependent on number of hours, experience, and skills. Competitive pay.
